Who
uses this service?
Children
Children may use this service if they are experiencing anxiety or depression
disorders, trouble at school such as bullying or peer group problems, separation or divorce of parents or if their parents
have other specific concerns.
Teens Teens
frequently have concerns with peer group and self esteem, experience family problems, eating disorders, behavioural problems
and sometimes substance abuse.
Parents Parents may like to
discuss discipline problems or school issues, how to manage teenagers or very young children. Whatever the concern,
it will be treated with care and confidentiality.
About Christine The Kid's Counsellor After an extensive first career in teaching Christine completed her Postgraduate
Studies in Psychology (Dist.) from Monash University and began her counselling business for children and parents. Christine
has worked in both Australian and International settings. Currently she
is completing a Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree from James Cook University. With her high interest in children's
matters Christine spends more than half of her working time with children. Additionally Christine conducts family therapy
and psychotherapy for men and women individually.
Christine has a high interest in helping with behavioural
and social difficulties experienced by children and promoting good emotional and social well being in the home,
school and interpersonal settings.
For management of:
anxiety/depression/anger
management phobias, fears grief and loss social skills bullying/school issues/assessment behavioural issues, ADD/HD eating, sleeping disorders parent/sibling relationships/divorce self esteem
